Author Topic: Homebrew Channel Help?  (Read 529 times)

I want to install the Homebrew channel on my Wii, and I want to find a safe and easy way of doing it. Can you guys tell me where you learned to install it? I'd prefer the people that already successfully installed it to tell me.

Alright. Get a SD card and install the Bannerbomb installer on it. http://bannerbomb.qoid.us/
MAKE SURE YOUR SD CARD IS EMPTY.
Alright now download the Bootmii installer from: http://www.bootmii.org
Rename the dol file in there to boot.dol
Go to your Wii savedata
Go to SD Card
It will ask to load the boot.dol or not. Say yes.
Install Bootmii, Homebrew Channel, and DVDX
You need Bootmii to back up your NAND in case you get bricked for some reason, you need DVDX to read/play custom discs for DVDs or Homebrew in CD form, and you need Homebrew Channel to load everything else.

After you finish the installation for all of them, remove everything on your SD Card and make a apps folder. Download HomeBrew Browser there and now you can add Homebrew apps without leaving your wii! Just open Homebrew Browser from the Homebrew Channel.

I'm very thorough.

Get Ftpii also, some apps like ScummVM need files to run the original game.

A good client program is FileZilla.

thank you supertoxic :D
I haven't done it yet but I'll do it eventually. I trust you though so I hope this doesn't screw up my wii :o

Trust me. I've done this to so many people's Wii's and they all appreciated it. It's completely harmless and even has a complete remover uninstaller, incase you get scared after installation.
