Author Topic: Anti-Virus Programs  (Read 1857 times)

I used to have Charter Security Suite, but because I just had to wipe my HDD and reinstall windows due to the thing not scanning correctly and letting the virus spread everywhere, I need a new one. I'd like if it wouldn't slow my computer down like my old one and if it was free. Please suggest free ones as I am cheap and broke.

Ok thanks, I'll be checking it out.

When I used Super anti spy ware on this one computer I found 1047 viruses, spyware, dialers, backdoors, worms, rootkits, keyloggers, and some other stuff.

Use "avast!"
It's better than AVG, and I use it.

Any free Anti-virus things will not protect your computer very good at all.

You should check out Kaspersky.

Don't skimp on protection, the best cure is prevention. Don't let your computer get destroyed.

I had AVG Antivirus and my computer got infected by a Trojan. They had to replace over 70% of my computers Hardware it was so forgeted up.

Try out the Norton 360 free trial.

I have the paid version, and it kicks ass.

Norton's stance on the internet: YOU CANNOT USE THE INTERNET BECAUSE THE INTERNET IS BAD AND YOU WILL GET VIRUSES AND YOU WILL LOSE EVERYTHING /delete internet

AVG works fine, not everyone is willing to spend money for a program that my be a bit better.

Funny how Kaspersky didn't pick up stuff on a computer I had to fix for somebody, but AVG and avast! picked up quite a few things.

Sounds like you got scammed.

Also, I'm trying out AVG. I'm keeping my HDD usage to a minimum just incase I need to redo the whole process all over again. Thanks everyone.

I use Avast! as well. It works pretty well, and it's free.

I have Avira, works good, avira keeps detecting things on my dads computer, and it's the free edition.
