Author Topic: Getting a New Laptop: Any Suggestions?  (Read 3048 times)

Yes, i am getting a new laptop.  I am tired of sharing one computer with the family.

Some guidelines:
-Preferably under 1,500
-PC
-Atleast 4GB RAM
-Good graphics card

I only play Blockland and i'm hoping to get Tf2, so just something that can handle that.

This is what i am looking at: Here

The cooler is a must, reviews say that the laptop gets hot in intense gaming.
The laptop should handle lots of things thrown at it.

Moriarty if you want I can sell you my old Latitude D610 for $450 when I'm done 8th grade with it.

Asus makes good laptops, very nice, I have the N50Vn, not exactly a gaming laptop, but it's good, get one of the G series if you want it for gaming.

I wasn't even posting to you..

Search up the Dell Inspiron E1705. Yes, it only supports up to 2gb of ram, but there is a way to get 4gb, so no worries. I have it and it has yet to fail/stop impressing me. I love it to death. Only cons that I can think of is that it is big (I got it as a desktop replacement, so I don't care) and there isn't a numpad. Other than that, it's freaking awesome.

Do you really need a laptop? Are you going to be traveling every single day, and absolutely need it wherever you go?

If not, save up and buy a nice Desktop PC.

congrats lol
i hate sharing a computer with anyone.
my life truly started when i had MY computer.

careful with a laptop if you dont really need one. they are trendy but you WILL pay more for the same power of a desktop. (thus a desktop of that price will be more powerful)

I really want a decent laptop because for some stupid reason my parents like to leave me at my grandparents in new york for a few weeks before/after camp.

And plus if I take it to a friends house, LAN party!

In situations like that, I'd be happy with a Netbook and Quake.

I'm almost never traveling, so I don't need a Laptop much. And if I did, it wouldn't be unbearable to not have power-demanding games with me.

I have taken my computer now to houses, it works well.
