Also, it says this gun is 1001 mm. That's around 35 inches, which is around 3 feet. My ASP2 Type 96 is 3 feet, surely that can't be right?

It is. The most common measurement for "assault rifles" like the AK series, M16/M4, or G36 is around 36 inches. Your rifle is probably around 42 inches.

I measured my rifle at 37 though. and to me 3 feet seems pretty big. Are most airsoft guns 1:1 with the proportions to their IRL counterparts?
