Author Topic: .DTS In-game help.  (Read 1221 times)

Hey, I'm making the Morita Rifle from Starship troopers. I made the mesh and when I imported it to Milkshape (it was .3ds), added textures (in the Weapon_MoritaRifle/shapes directory), added mountPoint, exported with the Torque DTS Plus exporter, packaged, etc (wow that was long ._.) I get this.

The image for the player holding it in 3rd Person mode and the Item in the Brick items section. Note how the item for the player doesn't contain its other parts, and the handle is behind the player.

The image for the player holding it in 1st Person. (ooh, the exporter added a Laser sight plane, but I don't want that.)

Can you help me, so I can fix the .DTS for the weapon?
EDIT:

Yet no one answers me.

Needs flatshade. Also, don't have crap enabled when you test. It may mess it up.

Unwelding it will cause it to look like crap. Using the tile texture thing without Unwelding makes the whole thing have holes. And welding after Unwelding, then tile texturing it, and then Welding together makes MS3D crash.

Program?

.ms3d is the file extension for Milkshape 3D. Meaning the program is Milkshape 3D

And when I export with the normal DTS exporter, when I spawn the weapon, Blockland crashes.

Didn't see that.

ON TOPIC: Does your model have backfaces? These would be faces that are either black or invisible.

For flatshading, make a material for everything you want flatshaded, unweld all verticles THEN you tile texture mapping, then go to material you created earlier and uncheck autosmooth then go back and reweld all.

Use Torque DTS plus to export, not Torque Game Engine DTS

Can I have a .ms3d to test?

Yes, I did use Torque DTS Plus, and I said that Unwelding makes the model look screwy:

While exporting MS3D crashed. (Torque Exporter PLUS)
I'm trying normal one.

Way Over Poly. I can tell by the download size. You probably did what  did starting out and used turbosquid or something. I suggest learning to use Blender or Milkshape before attempting to make something work in game.

Im going to claim stolen model. Or turbosquid.

Or some stuffsy program that gives you over 20000 polys in one simple sphere.

If he modeled that, Then i have two richards.
