I take crickets, tarantulas, etc outside since they seem to annoy my family yet they cause no harm. If there's a tiny bug on the wall or whatever, I don't kill it. If there's a scorpion or something hazardous (Arizona ftl), we kill it, because they can kill us if we're too close to it. They get pissed off very easily.
