You should probably learn C first, you can pick up bad habits without learning it.

The examples in a lot of those books show bad style, as well.

Also, Godik has a point. This is the book I used first year of college. Wasn't too bad.

I have the book. It is confusiing at first but after re reading it multiple times and going ahead, it explains it quite well.

I have the book too, I agree with heed. Although I tried to skip stuff so maybe I shouldn't say that.

Im using http://www.youtube.com/user/antiRTFM, he has 59 video tutorials on c++. He made them for people that are beginning and he does a really good job explaining whats happening. I watched another set of video tutorials also but they werent as in depth as these.

I got a book called learning C++ by making games or something like that. My favorite C++ book. I can give you the ISBN if you want it.
