Yeah, it was only a rough sketch. I don't worry about fixing proportions until I do the linework, I just want a plan before I do linework. I just wanted to know if the face was better, and I don't think I'm going to finish the drawing.
That guide really showed me that what I was doing before was wrong, and that it's not supposed to be overly complex, otherwise it just isn't being free and it is being locked into a one way situation, thus taking away the life that it could have.
I think what I should do is mainly just practice on people's faces until they start to look right, as I seem to be doing just fine on shading and bodies as well as depth perception. Nobody is really complaining about any of that on my finished drawings of the latest stuff. I don't really know what I'll do, but I'll at least focus on the face more before I go and do the rest. I also need to work on scenery some, but for now I'll just have to get my faces down.
This is probably why my music is better than my artwork. Its just free will making it, and i don't have any real strict rules, which is the way it should be.
