Author Topic: Getting A New Router  (Read 1032 times)

Im getting a new router.

I want to get one with a pretty nice range. Because my Laptop is normally pretty far from it.

It also has to work with Blockland.
My current router is weird and old; I tryed port forwarding it but it just screwed up my internet and I had to mess with all these weird settings. I think i needed to make another IP adress, i dont remember.

I need a router that I know for sure can easily be port forwarded for Blockland.
Tell my from experience what you think I should get.

What should I get?

2wire Linksys or Belkin is the best for BL.

I use a 2wire.

If at all possible a specific model number would be nice.

But obviously there not going to be still be selling something from 5 years.
But if someones got something pretty new that works, I'd like to know exactly what.

Thats what messed me up last time. My current router is a really weird model.

isnt 2wire a quest DSL modem? you dont really have a choice of router if your on dsl.

Maby I should throw this out there:
I have Cable
So if it doesnt like cable, then i dont like it.

I have a linksys WRT54GL Router that works with Blockland and the range is pretty epic, I get a "Good" signal in my room; my old router gave me a very low/disconnected.

any lynksys or netgear router. ANY model.
they all work blockland just the same, there is no better.

the real differences are G or N routes, for the type of wireless you want assuming your computer has the proper antenna for the types.
but i would avoid wireless at all costs anyways for gaming.

FTL? Lol, Ive never seen that before but, yeah, Im with ya

I'll probably get a Linksys

My uncle works at 2Wire and he got us a free router. It died in two years though. D:

You kidding me? I had a belkin router previously and it was simple as hell to port forward.
