The bad thing is that if people spam friend invites and the other people accept them, well that's bad because they will spam invites...to they're server

By the way will you work on a banner system?Like every serrver can has it's own banner when you browse server's info?

BlockBot will be retired or atleast take a lesser role when the v4 chat system is out. At the moment everyone is shoved into a single IRC room - this was just a terrible idea to begin with because 32 blockland players in a single server is a nightmare, let alone 500.

v4 will not have a main chat area - you're just going to have a list of friends you can message. As mentioned, there will be private chatrooms (and perhaps a public helpdesk/general chat) but ideally there won't be 500 people in a single room at one time.

As for server invitations - you can only send them to people on your friends list so there's no issue of spam (and if someone is spamming you, remove them from your friend list).

What about the Banner idea?It sounds great to me like uploading banners to an rtb database and each banner goes to the ip that the banner was sent from also that could be areason for people to download rtb to ahve they're own banner which they will create (Well they can always use banner generators)

Also, about Load Add-On(Thought you were talking about that add-on), I was just about to add a thing that checks whenever an add-on was downloaded, it would be added to my list. But due that you don't like people modifying RTB, then I would like to ask that you could add some event system when a file was downloaded so I can use that instead?

Sorry for off topic but bl is really in trouble someone with name MegaScience with id 226 got in leetzero's freebuild server and he knew how our keys started ... he told there are methods and to ask truce how to do that and something that truce has lucky charms and blarny stones Umm i was scared

Pffffhahahahahahaha

Megascience is just a less-capable version of Truce. They're both script-kiddies. Truce is just better at it. As for that part, the first part identifies your BL_ID in the key and can be reverse-engineered from your BL_ID. It's been done by three or four people already, notably Trigun and Truce. I'm guessing Megascience just got it off Truce, either the full script or just the particular algorithms.

If you type in echo(getKeyId()); into the console, you'll find that it gives those same first 5 letters.
This is the ONLY part that can be found out from your ID. The rest is impossible.

could you make it so we can view the holding tank in mod manager?

No. A lot of crap gets submitted with exciting names and I don't want people getting excited over things that have to be failed because they don't work.

You can always leave it up open the holding tank so we can see it for a month an then decide if you keep it or not

No - I decide what I keep. Users play no part in quality control.

Update on v4
I've been continuing development on the chat server and surprisingly this is nearing completion. Authentication is in place as well as private room persistance. I suspect the server will be complete in the next couple of days.

The toughest bit is the interface for the chat - It's very interactive and looks pretty cool so far. It should feel like a proper friends list and not some hacky torque add-on. Here's another example of the menu functionality (my bad for the jpeg quality):

V4 was originally going to include a lot more features but I'm thinking I might just cut everything out and release it as just the chat client (and then introduce the other features in 4.1). I think people have waited long enough for this so I don't want to delay it any further. I will be aiming for a private/public beta of the chat client in roughly a month's time and depending on performance we can then go ahead for a full release.

I wonder if other people attempting to make chat clients has anything to do with this...

Sure, partly. I've thrown around a lot of ideas in this thread regarding a chat client and it'd be a shame if someone else implemented my own ideas before I could.

It's not like I've suddenly decided to make a chat client - this has been on the drawing board for atleast a year.
