Author Topic: Wacom Tablets for Cheemo and Spock - Which?  (Read 2159 times)

We need an artistic tablet with nice, free software.

On a 100 - 400 dollar budget, we want a lovey tablet.

We've taken a liking to the Bamboo Fun, and a loving to the Intuos4.
I personally think I don't need a size larger than small, but if you just went "/facepalm" at that explain why.

I could buy the Bamboo Fun in a couple of weeks, but the Intuos would have to wait a while / Christmas.

What to buy?

Regular Bamboo, $75 and it gets the job done. It has four buttons to do whatever, a zoom/scroll area, and kicks ass with Vista. You could go for something with a screen if you want, but if all you need is a basic tablet, just get, well, the basic tablet.

However, the Fun comes with a mouse and pen, as well as free software that we do want.

Whats a tablet?

It's like turning a regular computer into a touch screen computer.

Pen = Mouse

I have a Medium size Bamboo Fun (Which I recommend). It's a bit small, but not to the point where it can cause issues.

Ok, it's help for me to see a picture of a hand next to a Bamboo Fun small and a hand next to the medium. Something for comparison. I'm willing to bet I could handle using the small, but I'd still like a comparison.

I've pretty much ruled out the Intuos, considering I'm a 12 year old hobbiest.

I have an Intuos 4 medium, I've used my friends Bamboo small and there is a very big difference.

The pen in the picture of the Small posted above is the size of your average pencil, only a little fatter.

Same size pen as picture posted above, size of pencil.

Explain. Did they taste different? Was the size different? I understand they're different, and that the Intuos4 has some amazing features, but I don't think I need them.

The intuos 4 is larger for one I didn't get the bamboo because they were small and for me weird to handle. The pen is very very sensative compared to the bamboo. The intuos 4 comes with many interchangeable pen tips with different thicknesses and flexibility. My favorite part is how the face of the tablet is rough like paper but not overly rough.

It was very expensive though ;c
