Author Topic: C++ Can't Compile on Vista?  (Read 1562 times)

Well, I have XP and Vista, and I was messing around with the resource files on C++, then I decided I would try to compile on C++, which on XP I do by right clicking the title of my project. I looked for it when I was using C++ on Vista, and couldn't find the button? Is there no compiler for C++ on Vista?

What are you talking about? Do you mean change the file type because theres no compiler on xp

All I got was
Quote
When I click it doesn't work
Which means stuff all.

Let me try and rephrase the question. Is there a compiler button on C++ 2008 Express Edition for Windows Vista? I am using C++ 2008 Express Edition on XP. There was a compiler button. I am also using it on Vista. There is no compiler button. Is there a compiler button for C++ on Vista?

You have to use the BUILD button.

You have to use the BUILD button.

Oh. But on XP C++ has the "Build" button as well as the "Compile" button. Are you sure its the same?

Also, say visual C++, C++ is just a language.

I use Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition so I can't really help there.

Something you don't like in the newer versions?

I use win7 and f5 does it for me.

press f5, build, or run buttons to compile. The run button will just compile it and not save changes to the directory. Same goes for every other microsoft visual studio program

2005 works with everything I use it for.
