Why would you change your name to clear your past and then tell everyone who you are?

A name change obviously isn't to clear a past. It takes litterally 2-3 clicks to find out who they are.

I never gave a reason for changing my name.  My past is not the reason.

No, it wouldn't have been. It would get you nowhere.
The only real way would be a new account, but people can still see you're the same person, and Badspot will even help to show you're the same person.
