DIPLOMATIC IMMUNITY in my terms is the avoiding of something because you're in a Political position. Avoiding a warrant of arrest, avoiding a parking ticket, avoiding a TAX payment, it's all Political Perks.
TAX CUTS on a person working for the country they live in doesn't make any sense either, because the way you're putting it, they should only have tax cuts in FOREIGN countries. It's one town. Tax cuts for 1 person in 1 town isn't fair, everybody should have tax cuts, or it is a POLITICAL PERK. Like I said, put this into the position of a Peace Maker, a Debtor, a Cheapskate, I don't care, but this doesn't make any sense.
Don't take this argument personally, by the way, because this whole tax thing isn't a big deal anyway, it's just not in the right position.
Well when you put it that way, if you really want to ROLE PLAY properly, you should portray the job fields correctly. This is the WHOLE POINT I'm trying to stress. I don't care if it's a role play, or a simulation, this uses SCRIPTS, and of those scripts include JOBS, and of those jobs needs to include the proper coding that gives the jobs their proper FUNCTIONS!
Diplomatic immunity has nothing to do with political perks. I think your misunderstanding comes from the whole country of origin. Let's just pretend that diplomats are here from another country.
Diplomatic immunity
itself has nothing to do with political perks. Diplomats are normally expected to be civil and follow a country's laws, but since they're pretty much exempt they can fudge their taxes a little and get away with it. Or double park without a ticket. You know, illegal stuff.
And I don't know why you keep telling me not to take arguments personally, because I rarely do.
A suggestion for tiering the shop keeper jobs would be to split it into legal and illegal vendors, a black market dealer or whatever.
That's planned, but Diggy just needs to adjust the script so I can start to do it. It's a bit more involved than adding a tax cut special, so it wasn't included in this update. But don't worry, I'll set it up so we don't need to reset accounts again when the next job update rolls around with shop jobs.
For the police tiers, it would be cool if at the high end there would be a SWAT team member job.
A SWAT member would have a special gun that would jail a person. (perhaps it uses rubber bullets that can only be purchased by people with the SWAT job at a special terminal in a police station.) And to further balance it out, the gun can only jail those who have 5 or 6 star wanted levels.
This provides a force that can take down the toughest criminals, but without completely screwing over the lesser crooks and police officers.
We have room to do this with the cops (since the EXP cap is at 40 right now, and their max is 30), but I also have to elaborate on the other path in that tier which can be hard to do depending on what perks are left to give out while keeping it balanced.
the assassin job needs to die in a hole
right now
if there's one thing that infuriates me totally and utterly about cityRP it's that you can't LEGALLY attack the guy who's trying to bludgeon / shoot / burn you to death, and if you kill him illegally, there will literally always be a cop right around the corner to slam you in a little grey cell with a bunch of morons who actually go out and try to kill people and ruin their fun
That's where self-defense would come into play, which is obviously not working as per your account. It has nothing to do with assassinations at the moment.
