Author Topic: I need computer help fast!  (Read 1441 times)

Well, here is my problem.
I was installing a custom windows theme, and I accidentally deleted a system32 .dll ( browseui.dll is the one )
The outcome was explorer.exe crashing on startup every time, I have the windows vista disk but I can't configure my bios to autorun it :/
Though, this computer is very new and I don't have much on it that I would mind losing, so if anyone knows a way to wipe my hard drive clean I am up for that option too.
Help :c

I'm not sure if you can just wipe it all out, but you can delete things manually.

Well, the thing is I can't seeing as I can not access any of my files :/

Go into BIOS and make your CD-Rom drive the first boot device, then launch Vista disc and repair.

Yea, I want to do that but the thing is my BIOS menu is very confusing and their are no guides any where :c

Usually it'll be in Standard CMOS Features or something like that.
Just sniff around there until you find something like First Boot Device, and set that to CD/DVD Drive, and set your Second Boot Device to HDD.

/_-

Just hit boot menu when it starts up and hit boot from CD. Mess around in BIOs for a bit, itll be to your advantage

Yep, I set my motherboard to alarm if my cpu reaches critical temperatures :D

Does the entire computer crash or is it just explorer.exe?
If it's just explorer.exe, solution:
Open task manager, and press new task:
If you have it, type in firefox and hit enter.
Goto Options>Main.
Click Browse where it says save files to.
Navigate to Windows\system32\
Save settings.
Go here: http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?browseui
Download and save it.
Go back to task manager.
New task
Type in explorer

Thanks guys, I will try those ideas.
Also, Chrono its not the entire computer, just explorer.exe

HDD is the hard drive right? Or is it something else?

Then do what I told you to.

I just did but it still didn't work, the thing is that I have a browseui.dll and a browseui2.dll in there to start with.
By the way if it's any help, I'm using windows vista 64 bit.

oh thats just the tip of the iceberg. Ive got my video and CPU overclocked. I can apparently call my home phone and my computer will turn on (via modem, if I had one :D) I need a password to start my computer, I can start my computer via the internet, and set alarms via temps. BIOs can be SOO much fun.

What motherboard and BIOS version do you have?
