Author Topic: Help me Float my Boat?  (Read 1670 times)

Well I this morning I suddenly decided I was going to try a sail ship. I have been meaning to make a boat, and finally I think I shall.

However I am having a bit of trouble.... it can't float too well.

I based this off of GSF Ghost's GSF Sailboat.

Any help to get this thing floating better would be greatly appreciated.

Same happens with mine. Mine also has a hard time turning.

Just so you know you can only sail a boat on water.

Did you see the other two pics? yeah, that blue stuff there is called WATER. Lesson 2...

The autunm pond map makes ALL vehicles/people sink, have you tried the ship in any other maps?

Yeah it could be the water on the map; San Andreas has this problem too with my boats. Try it on one of the ocean slate maps and see if it works. If it doesn't, you will have to find a balance between density (usually between 0.2 to 0.3), mass (values over 100 might cause problems), and drag (which prevents the boat from bouncing around on the water, but can also decrease yaw - turning - depending on density and mass). Hope that helps.

The script works he just needs to test it on another map.

Alrighty many thanks you for your in-depth help ghost. I'll go see what i can do with it now.
