Okay, I'm sure everyone's been thinking "Man, Spock's avatar is dah bomb! And he's so lovey, it's a wonder he has no girlfriend. I'm a pirate!" and I have given you an answer to your thoughts.

This process is more time consuming than anything. It takes well over an hour, and that's only if you do it right. Since I've done it twice, I fixed all production errors the second time
So, here's what to do:
1. Build a greenscreen. http://forum.returntoblockland.com/dlm/viewFile.php?id=535 is also a great map for this, if you download it the below is obsolete.
I didn't do this in the first one, I just went to construct.
Bad mistake. I had to hand draw all parts that were cut off due to being white, and this doubled my time. It doesn't have to actually be green, just a color that contrasts with all your body parts alot.
I built my greenscreen on a 32x32 and covered the walls and floor with glowing green prints. Don't put on a ceiling, you don't need it and it will probably just annoy you. Build the walls 15-20 bricks high.
2. Make your camera stand. This is done by killing a brick near the middle, then build 3 bricks up. Event the top brick like so - "[10000] OnActivate-Self-SetPlayerCamera-observe , [33] OnActivate-Self-SetRaycasting [ ]"
MAKE SURE THE BRICK ISN'T GREEN! THIS WILL LEAD TO UTTER INABILITY TO LOCATE IT!But, how do you delete the two bottom bricks under your set camera brick? Easily. If you have Multitool v2 just use your erase functions. For those who don't have it, do the following.
Look at the brick directly bellow your setCamera brick, and say /getid
Some info will pop up. Look at the ID and enter it into your console. Use this function, "<ID>.delete();" and viola! It's gone. Then delete the bottom brick and replace it with another print.
3. Say Cheese! Assuming you haven't turned off rendering and collision on the top brick, do so now. Now, activate the brick.
Position your player, with his torso situated directly under your SetCamera brick. Pose him however you like now, and then wait for your time to go out.
If you make your player sit, you should stand infront of the camera brick. That way, when you sit you'll plop under it4. Make you spin you right round, right round, correctly Go to options and make your rotate speed as slow as possible.
5.Picture tiem. Tap your rotate keybind two or three times in between pictures. The more taps in between pictures, the faster he spins. You should end up with about 40 - 50 pictures. I had 40 the first time and 44 the second.
6.Transperatize. This whole process is pretty monotonous, you have to do it for each frame, so you might want to watch TV or something entertaining while you do it. This step is EXTREMELY crucial. If you try to pull a trick with doing this whole process and not doing this one step, I'll slap you in the face.
Notice: This is not when you crop. You crop after you made your transparent animation. While using tools like the magic wand, you can save a lot of time using a special tool called that recognizes in colors a large area. You might say "What's the difference, Magic Wand does the same thing!". The difference is huge. With the color select tool, you can select the entire color with a click, not having to find each area of the color is secluded in.
I find GIMP works great for this, but you can use what you want.
My avatar is grayscale, so I set the thresh hold to 25, but 15 works fine. (If you don't have a clue what that is, just use 15)
http://www.pixlr.com/editor/ is a great online image editor, though it lacks a color select tool and you have to upload which will make it all go a bit slower.
Shadows are a bit of a bugger boo, to get rid of them zoom in 400% and just select any non-selected colors.
I've thought about putting the player on an invisible stand so he's floating and his shadow is off to the side, but I've never done it so I'm not going to put it in here.
7.Crop and Resize. I use
http://www.online-image-editor.com/ for this, it works great. Just crop the area around your player, make sure the remaining area is a square. Then resize to 75x75. You'll notice the resolution drops insanely after hitting Apply. Don't worry.
Now you're done.
