Is it your internal IP that you can view in the command prompt or the net IP that is logged on the Internet?

Lol disconnect from a IP and it should search for a IP auto then just take it and type in the code.

does not work

You cant change the current IP adress but you can choose another one.
Go into: View internet connections

Tl;dr
forget off; there's barely anything to read in the first place.

It automatically assumes the ip
I don't think you know what an IP is, much less what it's used for.
You have a dynamic IP, this means that it will automatically give you an IP to connect with. Why would you need to change the laptops IP address?

because it is never the right one

because it is never the right one
There is no "right" IP, what are you even talking about?

My IP should be 192.168.1.anynumbergoeshere but it always goes to 169 instead of 192

Is that safe :o

That's internal or Network.
To view your external IP, go here.

How would it not be?

It is very safe, all it is is a couple of Windows Commands.

That's internal, so if someone is on your network of computers, it could be EXACTALLY the same. Than the last digits.

Ok then, tell me how to tell the internal ip to my laptop
