add 2x(However wide the dock is) planks instead of a solid plate. Leave a 1 brick space between each plank. Replace the 1x1 supports with round bricks. And let them go up higher than the dock by 2. For the planks holding the boats, maybe add 1x1f rounds for rope that hang down.

No ropes. I want this to look like it was made from the cut-down trees.
