i never download any torrent at less then 200k a second.
there are tricks you must learn, not just toss in files and cross your fingers.

seed random crap for no reason till your up/down ratio is like 1000%
then you must keep them files and always seed.

torrent isnt just a downloader app, its a tool that gives you more speed if you seed more.
and even more speed if your seeding something your peers from another download are also currently downloading at the same time.


if you turn off your uploading thinking it will help you, and never seed because your greedy.
then yah you wont be allotted much download speed.


a stuffty download for me is about 200k a second. i actually average 1.6m a second

The thing with BitTorrent is you have to seed if you downloaded something.
I seed and download whenever I can and I get the best my ISP can give, 2.5 mb/s.

Good grief, you guys are being jerks towards kevdude, I've downloaded user content in garry's mod via torrents too (although more often svn). What torrent client are you using? Can you see other peers/seeds (file sharers)? Depending on your router, you might have to forward some ports. Also make sure you didn't 'skip' any files in the download list.

I forgot that garrysmod.org started using torrents.
