Author Topic: What are some good books to read?  (Read 5013 times)

That was an excellent book.  You're the only other person i know who has read that book.
Ah, I loved that book. I love most Eoin colfer books.
The Artemis Fowl series is really good. Loved the last, makes you think quite a bit.

Also, if you're into Fantasy/Medieval/Magic or whatever, then 'Lord of the Rings' is a good book. (Even if you've seen the film. I also suggest 'Shadows of the Apt' by Adrian Thaikovsky. Good books.

I recommend

The Zombie Survival Guide: It's a guide on how to survive the living dead. It's a fun little book to read.

The Adventures of Alfred Kropp: It's a story about some kid who finds King Author's sword. It's really adventurous, and I found it really cool.

Books by Chris Ryan; Firefight, Ultimate Weapon, etc.. (Action adventure books. About modern warfare special forces stuff.)

Books by Clive Cussler; Dragon, The Chase, etc... (Mystery books, I found them pretty cool)

Books by Andy Griffiths; Just Stupid, Just Joking, Just Shocking, etc... (I found this to be very fun to read. They are for people of younger ages, so I'm not sure if you want to read this.)

Warrior cats series by Erin hunter.

Cory Doctorow's books are fairly good. Also they are free on his website, you could always buy them if you like them though.

Richard Dawkins' stuff.

Fahrenheit 451
Even though this book is fictional, it's a surprisingly accurate brown townysis of the future at parts, at least from what I remember. I read the book years ago.
Other than that, you can buy Edgar Allen Poe's collective works for pretty cheap.
John Steinbeck is a great author, you should check out Cannery Row and Tortilla Flats.
Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid is a funny and informational book about the 1950s.
Breathers: A Zombie's Lament is a very unique book for something about zombies, and it manages to be one of my favorites.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is just hilarious.

Forget to mention The Time Machine, it's pretty short and you might be able to finish it in a couple of hours, but it's a great read.

I loved Edgar Allan Poe and H.P Lovecraft's stories, but I didn't really find them scary :/ Just interesting.
