Large businesses get tax cuts so they can 'fund' stuff. Of course no capitalist in their right mind would pay for something they didn't have to.

or did you just blow it off like any other republican?

Because Republicans never did anything good for the country.

Abraham Lincoln was a republican

I'm a democrat

so?

Republican policy has changed over the decades. Current laissez-faire ideology fails miserably.

the current US tax code is a huge scam lol.
like i would say about 90% of it is pages of special interest crap to benefit specific companies or industries.

Yeah this is an issue too, as if the Bush administration wasn't spewing enough hints of this stuff happening.

It's problematic when the average man can't even trust his own loving governing body. I can foresee a case of "The peasants are revolting!" quite litterally in the near future, then everyone who isn't dead or a dumbforget will move to Canada, and the rich people will move to their nice multi-billion dollar castles in Dubai or try to annex Alberta next since there's oil sands there (and another dumbass to take advantage of, Harper). It'll probably take a few nuclear "accidents" before all that happens though.

You can't pay taxes to a group of people who haven't fully confirmed themselves as a government yet. That is simply a donation drive.

America had its own fully functioning national government before the Americans even decided to declare a revolution. That's what the First Continental Congress was; America's first national government.

wat

The colonies had local governments, and before that they paid taxes to Britain directly.

Hey, hey, Canada's government isn't exactly a miracle either right now, fyi.

Well ok, assuming everyone can afford the boat ride, we could all move to Europe/Asia before the US is sucked dry and before Harper decides to forget everyone over except Alberta. Atleast Canada isn't completely Laissez-Faire yet, not that that's saying much. All the cool chemistry-related stuff seems to happen across the pond anyways.
