By hording, I mean you should have gotten a bunch of flash drives and spent all day copying everything you didn't want to lose to them.

Firstly, BestBuy probably ran a partition because thats all they ever do. In that case everything would be gone. Also, they have to treat it as a virus because they fail. GeekSquad = Tech School Dropouts.
