Windows 7 looks like vista with a paint job done on it, nothing really special about it.

I'll upgrade to it for the sole purpose of having a 64bit OS.

The family computer is 6 years old, and it's not that great.

The only thing fast on that is Google Chrome.

I haven't seen what's wrong with Vista. Unless you have a crappy computer, keep what you have.

Ugh, you are loving dumb. That launcher doesn't have jump lists, notifications, or any of that. the other thing, that isn't the same, because you don't get to choose what hidden and whats not. And where's the show desktop/transparent programs thing?

Does it honestly matter? Those features aren't worth an entirely new OS, they could haveve just updated Vista.
