get a toshiba satelite l500d it looks awesome, and it runs garry's mod on full settings quite well

Alienware m15X on low specs aside for RAM and graphics card (2.8 GHZ, 8 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 250 GTX or something). I mean, I would get higher powered processors if I could. But, apparently I can't.
This is probably your best choice if you are planning to spend that much money. One thing you NEED to be aware of is the fact that Nvidia mobile graphics cards are named differently then their desktop counterparts. For example, a nvidia 280 GTXm is actualy only about as powerful as a 9800GTX ( because pretty much is), which is significantly less powerful. The reasoning behind this is that most people don't think there is a difference between a 280 GTXm and a regular 280GTX, so they can get away with naming a different GPU the same as a more powerful GPU. Yeah its kinda confusing and not talked about much because it makes a much crappier GPU seem way more powerful which helps laptops sell better.

*Edit: I just looked up the specs for that laptop, it has a 260GTXm, which is only about as powerful as a 9800GT.
