Yeah, I was confused about the strange first bit, not the not-strange second bit.

So Gamzee, John, Dave, and possibly Jade are gonna contribute their weapons to the seed pod time capsule thing in the new session... Wonder what will provoke that, especially considering Jade had no interest in that gun, and it was never used by the bunny.

So they aren't active at the same time, but it's not sleeping that switches them out, unless this game was played over the course of several months. Gah what is the link between Lord English, the Horrorterrors, the Uracil Trolls, Complacency of the Learned, The Batterwitch, The Sufferer, the Squiddles aaaaaaaaaaa.

I suspect UU doesn't want to go to sleep now because uu represents the horrorterrors somehow, and sleeping without a dream-self meand appearing in one of their dream-bubbles.

Yeah, the fact that UU doesn't know what uu does with the pieces is evidence that they can't be "awake" at the same time. The fact that they have to close their communications to let the other take their turn also indicates this.
