But you've seen the double spiral. Calliope's half is the green one, which shows when she is awake. The red one is presumably Caliborn's. So why the solid circle? Possibly some relation to the fact that Caliborn is supposed to be taking over for good? Also, "Caliborn" is a cool name to say out loud.

So then what would be the point of the red spiral? The green one is Calliope, but the red one has nothing to do with her. Why wouldn't his half of the bed sarswapagus just have a red circle? It would have been an actual clue, rather than something there only for the purpose of misleading us.
