Can anyone help? My freind keeps telling me to dowload this Gmod thing, but I have no idea where to get it. Also, am I supposed to buy that one Orange Box game, too?

To buy Gmod, you'll need a Steam account, and one other source game by VALVe.

How do I get a Steam Account? And do you mean I could just, like, buy ANY game made by Valve for this to work?

No, I mean you need to download the Steam client. It should be pretty obvious how to register from there.

Then, you need to buy and install a
source
game by VALVe. Here's a list of them: This game requires that you own a Source engine game such as Counter-Strike: Source, Half-Life 2, or Day of Defeat: Source. Click here for a full list of games that meet this requirement. Please note that Portal: First Slice and the bundled Half-Life 2: Deathmatch do not fulfill this requirement.

Thank you. Oh, and I HAVE to download one of those games in order to use Garry's mod (if you know what that is) right?

You can buy TF2 from Best Buy for $10 with Steam.
