It's going to have a monthly subscription fee. It's built on an MMO engine and not an FPS engine. It's not an indie game. It basically doesn't infringe on Blockland's market at all beyond the facts that a) you can build stuff in it b) it has blocks.

I figure the people who are mainly going to be purchasing this game probably don't know about Blockland and therefore wouldn't even consider buying Blockland in the first place. I think it's aimed at the sort of people whose relatives are going to go out and buy a 3 month LEGO Universe card out at Best Buy and give it to them as a Birthday/Christmas present. The sort of people who keep AOL installed on their computer because they "like the browser more than Internet Explorer" and have icons labeled "Copy of Shortcut to WINWORD" all over their desktop.

I think the following will happen: 20% of Blockland users will try it just to see what it is like.  Of that 20% half will return to Blockland (lol a pun) right away.  The other half will get full accounts and use it for a week, Of that half 80% will realize that it is an over censored (and really, what online game designed for children is not over censored) feature lacking, un-modable, suckish, piece of stuff of a game it is and come back to Blockland after weeks.  The remaining people will never return (I remind you that this is 2% of the overall population of Blockland) and these people are 5 year olds tat could barely event a light switch.


But I also believe that our stream of new users will actual increase. This is because the Lego fans that recognize Lego Universe for the same reasons as above will start looking for alternatives.

It is Logical reasoning, for example: we can extrapolate that it will be over censored because it is a Lego product and will be aimed toward children.  A real world example of this Disney's Magic Kingdom online. My sister used to play this, in it you cant even name you house anything but house number _____ and you name can only be {insert stupid childish name such a pony lover 333}.  We can also infer that it will not alow addons because that would compromise their censorship program.  Also, ther will be no complex events because it would frustrate small children which it is aimed at.

Lego Universe seems like it is gonna be the best game to troll on ever  . Also, Blockland will be much better for building than Lego Universe, Lego Universe isn't primarily a building game, it is basically an MMORPG with lego characters. It will be as much a building game as Lego Batman was.
