Author Topic: What controls AI in games?  (Read 758 times)

Say in like ArmA II, Crysis or any game where you can spawn AI easily. What computer part would you want to be faster/better to have more AI at once? Is it the processor or like the video card? I have been trying to research for an answer. Nothing has came up that answers my question fully.

Processor handles the AI calculations.

Video card handles the rendering of the AI models.

So if you had a bad processer, the AI would be more predictable, right?

No it would just calculate slower.

Which then would make the FPS decrease? Would the 9800GTX+ and the Intel Core 2 duo 3.0ghz E8400 be a good combination?

I think they would, but you should choose a better graphics card and a quad core processer in order to make it "last longer".

I would assume so, and that looks like a good combination but there are many more people on these forums immensely more qualified than I to judge that.
