Author Topic: Space Invader on Car Hood (The Laser Invader)  (Read 4507 times)

The
Laser Invader
My car is a Ford Laser GL, so I named the car The Laser Invader because of this paint job.

As some of you probably remember from a thread a while back, I was asking for Pixel art of things that I could put on my hood and went with mah Space Invader. So far I've only gotten up to layering the tape for the shape, that's done but I ran out of time today and the weather started to look stuff.

The Design:

This exactly is going on my hood.

Anyway here's what I've done so far: (26/10/09)

I'll probably post the video of me working on it, though I look a bit psycho with my flinching.

Old car is old :D

I'd suggest putting tape around the outlines of each layer of color, then painting it in.

Oh you are. Well aren't you just loving clever?

I already know what I need to do, also I just updated the first post to actually give people the idea of wtf I'm doing.

You can't call this car a laser 'till you get some neon lights, bro.

neons are for bogans

neons are illigal I think. At least the ones under the car. They explode.

The tape actually looks pretty cheap. But his house looks nice :D

So, how do you plan to paint it on, spray paint?

No going back now! Unless I spay the hole hood black.

I'm wondering how long I should let it dry before doing the inner parts, I might take a look at it in about an hour and see if I need to put another black layer on. I'm also hoping to hell that I didn't make a leak in my newspaper coverage, last thing I need is random black splodges.
