Why would you host on a computer that's on a different network than the one you're playing on?

I have wanted to do this before as I have a good computer in my house however when at my dads I have to acces others servers.
Sadly this is not possible from multiple networks, as the way the authentification works is that simultanius equasions must be from the same location, this is the way Badspot monitors legitimate IDs etc.
