These are instances where I miss Drama lock.

I guess it's not too bad, if they were really old topics I'm sure Bad/Rot/Ephi would lock it.

Bumo is when you reply to a topic, and "bump" it to the top of the board.

Posting in a topic moves it to the top of the board.

Bumping is posting in a topic that is not close to the top and getting this effect.

Not always ancient, it can be any topic really, usually a topic that has moved to the second page.
