This.

Add-On Makers recieve so much 'fame' simply because their stuff is there to be viewed by lots of people.
When someone makes an Add-On, they generally tend to upload it to the internet, and allow others to download it and use it. So, people will remember that as it's on the Internet, on a Forum.

Most Builds however don't end up being posted in the Gallery, so people don't see them. There certainly are loads of brilliant builders out there, but they're just harder to spot, and they don't come so massively public with it. And, as Ephi said, people build something, then toss it out of sight and build something new. You could tell people that "XxX has an amazing YyY on their server, go and see it!" but that person could have put it away and begun building anew. So, even when the builds are kept on servers, and don't show it on the Internet, they get missed, so people don't get to see others great builds.

Simply put.
Add-Ons: Generally massively Public. Creators get credited by a lot of people.
Builds: Generally Privately kept upon servers. Creators get credited by the few people who saw it.

Actually, no. When you look at a build posted in the gallery, it doesn't even get as much posts as a topic in add-ons.

I have actually noticed this too :o
I agree, definately. Although, isn't the title backwards?

Comon guys, let's get building >:(

I agree. I think that 60% of the people in this game haven't built at least three things they have put a lot of work and effort into.

This is probably true.
I have seen many deathmatches in ACM city, Lord Tony's castle, and Sirrus' Military Compound, etc.

I don't know about anyone else, but personally, if I join a DM and it turns out just to be a default load I leave straight away.
Because it just shows how much effort the host is willing to put into the server.

No, read his very first words in the first post.

If I see a good builder, I remember him/her.
If I see a good add-on creator, I remember him/her.

I do not see many of either now-a-days, however I know they exist somewhere.
Same.

I give more respect to builders, personally. Bushido is a good builder though.

EDIT:
Build are what people want, but need Add-ons to make them perfect.
I strongly disagree with this. The way you build is how you make it look good, not how many addons you can cram into your server. Even though I'm guilty of this, people still say I build well and I don't use addons. Unless its for a minigame, of course.

Not really.

This might seem like drama, but I put it in general discussion because I expect people to be discussing about this. This is sort of like an everyday thing people would converse about, because you usually see add-on creators and gallery builders.

I have been noticing for a long time, that add-on creators are more noticed than builders. I noticed that when a good builder comes into a server, nobody cheers for him/her. Once a add-on creator comes in, everyone cheers for him/her. The add-on creator doesn't even have to be that good, and his reputation will boost up more than a very good builder. Bushido, Kaje, Pandan, Stratofortress, etc. you hear those guys a lot, right? Do you hear these guys as much? Barnabas, TheGeek, Jetpuff, Randomguy, etc. You probably didn't even know TheGeek built things. You probably thought he only makes add-ons. In fact, TheGeek built the MotE Mansion exterior. I think that the builders should be more noticed than the add-on creators, or as noticed, since this game was pretty much made for building. I'm not sure if this could even change anyone's views or not, but I'm pretty sure other builders feel the same way.

Thanks for reading, I just wanted to express what I was noticing. Feel free to discuss about this. After all, that's what this post was for.
I agree with this completely.
Now add my name in that list.
