The chances are not getting higher, the closer to release, the more anticipation fans have.
At the moment, it's obvious the game's getting game of the year, even if no one has played it yet, it's definitely going to be awesome.

They're facts with some commentary.  It has kill streak bonuses and perks.  I think they're overpowered.  The game has created a lot of controversy, I think it was unneeded and could have been avoided.  It has 18 player multiplayer on every console.

November 3, 2009 - GameStop's VP of Marketing Tony Bartel didn't back down when asked about his claim last August that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 could be the highest selling game ever.

Speaking recently with IGN, Bartel again referred to the title's strong pre-sales that will make it a historic moment for the Texas-based retail company.

"This will absolutely be the highest selling game in GameStop history," he noted. "We know that because our pre-orders are so strong on this game."

Bartel gave some perspective on the pre-order sales, too, saying the demand at its store alone is larger than the initial worldwide sales of Call of Duty: World at War.

"Just to put it in perspective, if you took all the Call of Duty: World at War titles that were sold in the first month worldwide, we have more pre-orders than that number just for GameStop this time around," he added.

Wedbush Morgan Securities brown townyst Michael Pachter recently stated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 could reach sales of over $500 million and that Activision could move as many as 10 million copies of the title in Q4.

It's already been proved that this game is, for sure, game of the year. No matter what you say or think, it's going to be game of the year.
It's sold more pre-orders at one store alone than the amount of copies sold of the previous Call of Duty game.

In my opinion from what I've seen they've put too much polish on it, Modern warfare 1 was simple straight forward.
