I do not believe that the world will explode when the Mayan calendar expires, but if it will, it will not happen in 2012.

Because what an ancient civilization thinks about the end of time is totally relevant.
They never actually predicted the end of the world. They said an "awakening" or "New era". The media has a tendency to lie :c

They were very advanced for their time, and they have successfully predicted many movements in the stars and planets. So what they say is rather relevant, but whether someone interprets it as End Times or not, that is their own fault.

Mathematical prophecies don't have anything to do with outlandish statements about a new world era.

You never know until it happens......or doesn't....<3

I also don't know whether or not pink unicorns rape me while I sleep.

I don't use that as a source, I know they lie :C
Still, there are 13 baktuns.

See, now your looking at it like me!  :cookieMonster:

Sorry guys but I don't believe in this 2012 bullstuff. Mainly because this is all just a huge scheme for companies to make money, and make movies and shows. Have you noticed how interested people are in this 2012 movie? If people hadn't advertised and pushed 2012 into people's heads so much, this movie would be a load of bullstuff for a whole lot of people. TV stations are taking advantage and creating shows about 2012, for example: The History Channel has made a load of shows concerning 2012, and during all of them had a load of sponsors, which gave them loads of money for just one show. It's all propaganda to get you to buy stuff.

Looks like there will be some interesting action scenes. From what I can tell, the plot doesn't look too good.

2012 is the next movie on my list  :cookieMonster:

I want to see this movie just because of the special effects.
Since when did apocalypse movies have good plot anyway? So don't expect any serious plot from here either. :D

Exactly what I said except you worded it better!

Also, business weren't trying to manipulate people into buying things, they saw a trend and rode it, hoping to make a bit of a profit. People were the ones that blew this out of proportion.

What is 2012 about? The world ending by the supposed 'myths' or about aliens screwing everything up......again.

Or both? It's possible to mix two completely different genres, or two similar ones. I mean, that movie "9" looked like a mix between Little Big Planet and The Day After Tomorrow.

But seriously, what is 2012 even about? :c
9 is 8 puppets who 4 die and a robot goes ka boom.

Their first commercial with the lady saying "Proven scientific fact that the world will end" make me freak out because I was not currently looking at the screen.
