So, then sending in your Xbox, not power cord, fixes that?  That makes no sense.  And I remember the problem being that the CPU or GPU gets loose or something.

Wrong. The thermal compound on the CPU and GPU sucks on the old 360's. It didn't transfer the heat correctly and would break the 360s. By replacing it with some quality thermal compound, it'll work like brand new. This is called the x-clamp fix.

Solder connecting the GPU melts. I think.

Ah, yes.  Either way, it's not the power cord.

Send the xbox in and get a fresh one for free.
That's right, free.

Pretty sure that can happen also.

If the power cord overheats, it can carry heat into the xbox and destroy it. There is a possibility, but not very likely.

Only if you have a warranty.

The brick can heat, moron.

Protip: Don't surround it with a DVD Player, Tivo, cable box, and TV. Put it in its own enclosed loving space so that it can get some god damn airflow in it.
Don't do the stupid thing, let your xbox breath.
Put the power brick on a flat surface, like a wooden floor.

What? My power brick has been on carpet for like 2 years and I haven't had my Xbox die.

Get an elite.
I just looks slawesome

I've had my xbox for two years, none of this ever happened to me.
ive had mine for 3

the power brick i got with my new 360 caused it to red ring

Take that code and flip it around...if you want to blow up one...like 1032 and turn into 2301

Do the wrong thing...dead XBOX 360...but nobody will want to do that.
