This is really interesting, better than the other magic things if you ask me.  think you did a really great job if water really plays a role...1 question:

for passive effects, are you holding the spell item to get that effect, or if you have it in your inventory, you get the passive?

also the earth emitters could be toned down a bit :P

In my opinion I need to make use of the debris model I made.
Darkness needs a Dark Void and a Dark Pulse.
What

will each spell type be an individual weapon you have to hold individually or will magician just have 10 slots for each spell type?

im almost positive he is going to make a different item for each spell. it would be way too difficult to incorporate all these into 1 item AND have a system to scroll between them...

Currently each spell is its own item, as you can see in the screenshots in the OP. When you hold them an emitter appears around your hand to show you have a spell equipped.

Sounds almost exactly like what there is now, except the two combined.

Yay only basic and summoner left, and for summoner will we be able to summon stuff that isn't a knight, archer, demon like a zombie or a national socialist or any other mods we might have?

I don't know this for sure, but I'm also NOT SURE. This may be allowed for the summoner, BUT if you were able to spawn zombie AI's and such it'd probably either A) Attack you, or B) Not function.
Unless if somebody wanted to make mods of them, that might work out.

Just a question, Amade. How come the "Basic" spell hasn't progressed yet? I would think it would be the simplest to complete. (However, I don't know much about programing, so I'm likely missing something).
