Is it possible to make a .map file convert to a .ter file, or at least server the purpose of a terrain file?

There is no possible way, also, you couldn't have houses and such in the terrain.

1. Download flatlands from here:
http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=40678.0
2. Get map2dif from here
http://blockland.us/index.asp?p=Download
(i have never tried it so, sorry if I'm wrong.
3. Save the model you have made into a .map file (i think) and then make it to a .dif file.
4. Put the model in an existing addon zip file.
5. Open mission editor.
6. Press f4
7. Find your model in the list on the right
8. Put it on the map :)
p.s. I think you can use slate instead. maybe.

You may be able to export a hieghtmap of the .map file and then load it into Blockland. This will probably get you very undesirable results though.
There is no way to convert a map file into a terrain file. Follow the instructions above to export your map file as an interior and import it into Blockland.
It certainly is possible to generate interior based terrain though, should you find a use for it. Use this tool:

Hmm... I'll try it out. I don't plan to have any terrian at all. If I must, I'll either use slate, or just put the map over the terrian.
