They installed two anti virus programs on a computer...

They have all of this site blockers why do they need anti virus stuff?  Viruses just randomly appear?

Because, idiot, you can get viruses from sites other than obviously dangerous ones. Rather obvious.

My school's computers are always fast.

Today i had to go to some damn math site called Aleks.com and it took like a minute or two to atleast get the home page up and Norton said it had a virus >_>

Because schools can just go out and build 100 computers right now, they've got the money, of course!

And most counties have several schools on a single T1 line.  That's 3000+ people using the internet at once, so it's going to be slow.

Installing 2 anti-virus programs is just stupid, most of them will conflict with each other and detect the other's virus vault thing as a virus.

And school's that aren't stupid just reghost their computers every couple of weeks.

I have three anti-virus programs and they don't detect each other. I'm sure somehow they cooperate.

They don't need those anti-virus programs.  Macs can't get viruses, silly!  :cookieMonster:

My software class has a brand new Mac.  So far all we've done with it is play with garage band and use it as a dice roller for D&D.

It wasn't obvious, obviously!

I'm guessing that all the people using the internet at once has something to do with the Internet part.

Most schools are cheap when it comes to computers. They usually have like an 800 MHz Celeron processor or some stuff worse.

Public schools have like Mac's from the 90s and usually no internet. Private schools like me have dells that are just weak but have good internet even if its filtered.
