Author Topic: How do I make Trees  (Read 3140 times)

I've seen trees on a few maps, and I was wondering how you would make them. I'm thinking that the trunk is made in Torque Constructor, but I don't know how to make something in TC, and non-colliding, so the leaves leave me stumpped.

Any quick answers for this?

I also have no idea, but there are some trees and bushes around bedroom, a tree in kitchen and some trees in the map "Autumn Pond" wich are pretty good. lots of maps have trees =]

I'm not out to steal the trees thought. I want to make my own. I need it to look like a certain tree, so I wanted to know how to make the tree.

Do you know how to make something in TC non-colliding? That's my main problem.

I don't think you can. Try making a .dts shape instead, though it may be a bit more challenging.

.difs (interiors made in Torque Constructor) are usually laggy as hell when several of them are placed. Try adding shapes instead.

Hmm... I don't plan on using more than 10 trees...

How would I go about doing this? I'm a little new to TC. I can make anything, it's all of the file extensions that I get a little lost.

Talk to kompressor. He makes octagoon trees.

Alright. I'll contact him and see what I get.

My only problem is the non-colliding trees.

And he made the tree dts's that came with blockland.  Rather funny.  Use the sharp tree pack models in the blockland files.
EDIT: Wait, shoot.  I was incorrect.  He made a forest rendering pack, the Sharp Tree Pack isn't his. :cookieMonster:

Yep, the sharp tree pack is included in Blockland. Autumn Pond also uses the sharp tree pack. Some of the textures were modified so that the leaves were red but I'm pretty sure none of the people who worked on the map mind if you use them.

Here is the complete sharp trees pack, you might find even more trees in it:

Yeah, the blockland pack only has the ones included with maps.

Wow Wedge. Thanks. I might just find the tree I'm looking for. :)
