IF YOU ARE NEW, READ THIS. You are not special and acting like an idiot is not tolerated by the older forum members.
These are not really rules, but tips that will help keep you from getting flamed and yelled at.
Do not speak in leet/idiot/etc.
What ever you do, try to at least speak like an intelligent human being. I'm not saying that every word you type should be 100% grammatically correct, but at least try to act like you know how to speak and write the language. Dropping vowels, shortening words, replacing letters with numbers, etc. will make less people care about what you have to say.
Do not bandwagon
Did someone just compliment a build that looks ugly or just disagree with a newer person for no reason? Despite popular belief, agreeing with all the "cool" people will not make you cool. The whole point of a forum is for people to express their opinions and a bunch of messages that say the same thing helps no one.
Read over your post
The edit button is handy, but it is no substitute for reading what you have already written. Before pressing the "post" button, mentally go through this list and try to make every answer a "yes":
- Does your post make sense?
- Does your post add anything new to the discussion?
- Will people care about what you have to say?
- Did you put effort into what you have typed?
- If your post is supposed to be funny, will people laugh at it? (HINT: No one enjoys potty humor or lolcats)
I have written many replys to threads, only to click the back button on my browser and not post. Just because you have written something does not mean you have to click the post button. (HINT: Use the preview button to look over your post!)
YOU ARE 13 YEARS OLD OR OLDER
It doesn't matter how old you are, you act like you are at least 13. I don't care if you are 11, 7, 9 or whatever, you say you are 13 or older and make sure no one ever doubts you. EVER.
Please don't post any "New members won't read this!" replys. I'm sure after someone new gets flamed a few times, they will try to find out how to avoid it.
