Author Topic: Christmas Presents  (Read 3162 times)

I'm tired of people knowing two months in advance what they'll be getting for Christmas. The whole point is that you are not supposed to know. Why behave, why be nice if you already know you're getting what you want? My kids won't be spoiled that way. They will live in fear of obtaining junk for Christmas if they don't act properly. And if they act out on that, then no Christmas for them period.

Secondly, it's only 2-3 days from Thanksgiving, I don't think anyone really cares anymore if they're plugged with Christmas advertising. It's been going on all month as it is. I'm tired of complaining about it because it won't change.

The (modern) point of Christmas is to give. People don't have to earn their gifts.

Yeah and look how that's turning out. Kids are getting more and more spoiled each passing year. Respect for people is going right to the crapper, and no one seems to notice that earning things is actually a great way to teach morals. The heck if I'm going to a retirement home, I'm taking a cruise for the rest of my life if this is how people will continue to develop towards. Because I can see it in the soon future "Hey guise, let's work at nursing homes, tape us beating the living hell out of old people and post it on the net for teh lulz!"

Agreed

I am allowed $100 worth of presents from my parents, period.
And that's all I really need.

I'm sick of people asking for Xbox 360 elites, new laptops, PS3's, iPods, etc.
Unless their parents are loving rich, or they're like a single child or some crazy stuff like that. Either way they're getting spoiled, though.

(Airsoft Guns)Magpul PTS ACR or A&K Masada
(Airsoft Guns) KWA KP45 or WE 1911
(Airsoft) New goggles and some other gear.
(Airsoft) EOTech Replica
Ipod Touch

"Hey guys all children are monsters and they've changed so much in one generation let's fear them forever!"

You'd be surprised. I never in my childhood ever remember kids killing each other just to "know what it's like" or kidnapping a baby, shoving batteries up it's orifices and leaving it to be horribly mutilated from the next passing train. Or how I never remember school shootings ever as a kid, and let's not forget bringing weapons to school. If we had a beef with someone, it was "meet in the playground at before school/lunch/after school and we'll fisticuffs it out. Kids aren't becoming monsters, they are just severely lacking in self control and discipline. And that's usually thanks to lazy parents who cave into their every demand because they don't want to deal with a whining kid.

Btw, the Columbine Massacre happened when you were 14, hurr durrf, kids were bringing guns and stuff to school when you were a kid.

Actually I was 18 at that point and legally an adult. Try your math again.
