How Do You Set the Preferences for Trench Wars?

I was simply wondering how to set my preferences for my trench wars mod.  I downloaded the mod and when i dig the dirt turns clear.  when i put it down the dirt is still clear.  Also, i can only hold 50 dirt which gets really annoying.  Can someone guide me through the process of changing my dirt color and maximising my carrying capacity.

I believe you have to be using the default color set too.
