Author Topic: Medieval Shields WIP  (Read 1952 times)

while my Crossbow is on hold, I've started modeling some shields.

So yeah pretty basic. They'll each have a sword with them, not sure if it'll be the default one or not.

Unlike the current shield I don't want these ones to reflect the projectile, just deflect it.
So it won't shoot the stuff back at them, just bounce off.

Sword has same functions as always, but you hold right-click to raise your shield.
You move around at walk speed when it's not out.

It'll also stay on your back when you're not fighting, so it probably will block stuff from behind too, but only if
you're not holding you sword and shield, if you have it out but not blocking, you just hold it in your other hand.

As always, X/10 is welcome, along with criticism and suggestions.

I'm also thinking about different logos, so if this gets made maybe I'll take shield requests.

Round shield?
Roman kind of shield?
Suggesting stuff.

Yeah I might go for different types of shields, but I meant like emblems on the shield.

Example: Awesome face shield, Blockhead face shield. ETC

Anyone willing to dedicate to scripting?
Either that or I might ask Spaceguy for help, since he made the original shield mod.

Proog, check my roman kit post, maybe you can help me with that. And, nice designs. Basic, but have a theme, unlike Space Guy's. (P.S. I'm not saying Space Guy's isn't good. I'm just saying that it needs a design to it instead of a 2x1 flat brick.)

Umm, are you going to post pics of the model? These are just made with a paint program.

I made a couple models, wait for me to take some screens...

I am pretty sure that those are pictures of the model from 3 different angles.

No, it is easy to tell this was made in a paint program, he uses Milkshape, so it should have a blue background instead of a grey background.

Get out. Milkshape i believe has a render mode where you can render images. And he could have deleted the blue anyway. Or he could have made them in wings3d

1. You can change the color of the background in Milkshape.
2. He could be using something else than Milkshape?

Well, he used Milkshape for his crossbow, leading me to think he used it for this...

and these look so much like MSPaint drawings.

These dont look like MSPaint at all to me, more like Wings or maybe even Blender.

Here are screens:
Front

Back

These have been made in Milkshape, NOT MS paint.

I took the pictures at exact projections and instead of viewing them as a wire frame, I viewed them as a 3D model. so it's just exact, and I disabled the axis and grid.

None the less here are some better pictures.

I'm gonna make some different types of shields to probably go with different weapons.

And to shut up all those 300 cigarettes fans I'm making a Spartan shield and Spear.
Maybe a helmet too

Fixed :) Anyway, like i said and I repeat:

Oh well, it still looks like MSPaint... the left view.
