Author Topic: Kids saving the world by playing card games. Wohoo.  (Read 3034 times)

Been thinking on this alot recently. Were the games THEMSELVES ( with real cards n stuff) the reason why Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokemon became famous, or did the shows do the work?

Discuss.

I don't understand how that's fun

The only reason I played Yu Gi Oh was because everyone was obsessed with Pokemon. Then when everyone followed my example, I quit that and went to Bakugan. Once again, they followed and ruined my need to play it so I quit playing those card fads. So I would have to say that the shows definitely helped make those card games more popular. They're only 30 minute commercials for the things after all.

Sounds like you playing them was enough to make them hyper popular! You must be one cool cat.  :cookieMonster:

I used to play it at summer camp
Sold all the cards for about $200
Feels good man

I sold my old Pokemon card collection for about 250e total.

I'm the card carrying Casanova, my friend!  :cookieMonster:

Man, I need to hurry up and sell my pokemon cards. They're starting to disintegrate under my bed.  :cookieMonster:

I'm going to sell all of my cards, which include

Pokemon
Yu-Gi-Oh
DragonBall Z
Magic: The Gathering

I'm guessing I'll get about $120

I have a massive book of Yu-Gi-Oh cards I'm going to hock on ebay for around $200+.

I have the original 151 pokemon cards

a shadowless holographic charizard (NOT A loving 1ST EDITION GOD DAMN IT)

Also, Bakugan is just handicapped really. My brother brought home some cards from school, and I was like wtf mang.

YOU THROW BALLS AT EACH OTHER

IT DOESNT MATTER HOW STRONG THEY ARE

WHAT MATTERS IS HOW MUCH YOUR PARENT(S) ARE WILLING TO SPEND ON THE BIGGEST loving ONE OUT THERE.

They're getting bigger. The balls. BIGGER.

And that's our memorable quote of the day.

You should of seen the time Pokemon trading card games were here, due to the stupidity of the youth of Israel, guess how the played it?, by who filps the cards via clapping and such the winner gets the cards.
I found it the most idiotic way of playing, yet it happened all the loving time.
Same thing happened when Yu-gi-oh came to Israel, I played the game properly and other kids just did the clap flipping stuff.

Heck, its not the worst thing about it, the worst was the times the cards were introduced to elementary schools, at that time when the people came, the kids would just brutally pummel the people handing them out, until they would run away and leave the bags with the cards for the kids.

It was quite a shocking scene and still make me wonder how the forget Israel isn't dead from handicapness yet.

Poker, anyone?
