hmmm, that's not exactly how I would have done it...

The head is ok, but I think it should be somewhat lower poly, and more sharp/angular looking.
And the "hands" need to be bigger, longer, and sharper, and have spikes:



The back part shouldn't be nearly so curved, too.

But I say over all, it's a nice start! :)

Try to make it really close to the picture.



But for one of your first, it's great!

Tips: hands spikier and longer, as Army said, and bigger eyes, on the side. Don't forget antennae.
