Personally, I think Blu-Ray is overpriced.
First off, the DVD's cost much more than a normal DVD. It costs 40 bucks to buy a new movie that's Blu-Ray.
And, movies aren't about how they look, but about the story, and character development and such. I'd rather watch Octagon with Chuck Norris on VHS on my crappy TV then watch Speed Racer on my Flat screen, 49 inch, blu-ray(I don't have) enabled Television.
And, a Blu Ray player costs a stuff load of mula! I wouldn't buy a PS3 because of Blu-Ray, but probably because of Resistance 2 and infamous. And a PS3 used is still 300 Bucks!

Discuss your opinions.

They said the same thing about DVD when it first came around.

I like Bluray a lot actually.
Better picture, better sound. It's nice to have.

I liked speed racer :(

Personally, I don't give a stuff about it.

Watching a standard definition DVD on my Xbox 360 that's connected to my 1080p 37-inch TV via component cables looks just fine.

Better picture and sound. More data storage: 50GB opposed to 5GB on DVD. Hurray for fanboyism!

Of course it's overpriced, it's made by sony!

Hahahaha, you only have 1080P on a TV that big?
That sucks for you. Mine's ~1600PX at 28 inches. You have a low hi-def TV. (if that makes sense)

My parents won it in some raffle thing. They had no choice on the size.

Hell, I'd still play on a standard definition TV if I could read the damn text in dead space.

Bluray is around, and I don't even have DVD player for TV. :o

I'd have no idea which looks better.
I'm sort of blind between quality differences.
I honestly can't tell the difference between regular TV Shows and HD TV Shows.

With multiplayer capabilities, blu-ray on PS3 can hold over 200GB of data, which IMO is better than DVD or HDDVD (Xbox)
