Author Topic: Face errors  (Read 1124 times)

I'm updating my TF2 face/decal packs and renaming the zip files in the process, but when I add them to my add-ons folder they weren't there on the Player menu. I looked at the console and found this:

Code: [Select]
Executing config/client/avatarColors.cs.
Loading object base/data/shapes/player/m.dts
ERROR: File "/thumbs/" is not in one of the default directories
ERROR: File "/thumbs/.jpg" is not in one of the default directories
ERROR: File "/thumbs/.png" is not in one of the default directories
ERROR: File "/" is not in one of the default directories
ERROR: File "/.jpg" is not in one of the default directories

I removed the pack and I still get these errors, and either way upon entering the "Player" menu to change my player avatar my face looks like the bottom of a brick. (An interesting looking phenomena I might add, though not what I want)

Any thoughts?

Haha. Your face looks weird.

Oh, and that is the bottom brick texture jpg thingy.

Idk though. I would check the other decals, and compare to yours to see whats missing.

Is it all put together like this?

/description.txt
/image.png
/thumbs/image.png

I forgot the description.txt, but even with that in there it still does the same thing.

Change your face and remove the decal pack and it should stop giving those errors.

I changed my face and removed all of the non-default faces from my Add-ons folder and am still getting the same problem.

Is the decal 128x128 and the thumb 64x64?

"...and that IS..." means that I am confirming your statement that it looks like it.

The thumb is 64x64, the full-sized decal can be any power of two.

...the full-sized decal can be any power of two.

Hmm... didn't know that. I'll still make mine 128x128 to be on the safe side.

Arnt they supposed to be .PNG not .JPG?

If this is the problem, can't believe nobody caught that...

You should be happy.
This is a great miracle by god.

Yes, they're PNGs.

I beg your pardon?

He's trying to provoke thread-stuffting in your topic.

It could be any add-on you have causing this, there isn't enough information to even start diagnosing the probelm.

Have you tried it on a fresh install?
