Author Topic: Noise comming out of my tower  (Read 747 times)

When I run Blockland, wierd screeching/beeping noises start repeatedly going off (Does NOT come out of my speakers) I was wondering if this could cause any damage to my computer (cuz it sounds like it does). Or if there is anyway to fix this problem. Thanks.

Give us some specs on your computer. Model, processor, RAM, graphics/video cards, etc.

by tower do you mean bridge or router. do you have a mac or windows computer. what is the type of router or bridge and is the router or bridge apple type or linksys etc.

sorry for so many questions bus i just need more info to find out what the problem is.

By tower i mean like where the motherboard, RAM, video Card, and stuff is.

I got half 0.5Gb RAM (Yup its low) but attached a 2 gig usb as ram so donno if that helps.

Graphics card is a nVidia GeForce 7800 or something around that number

Intel(r) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz 1.99 GHz.

Board: ASUSTeK Computer INC. P4S8X-MX Rev 1.xx

If you need anything else, would be helpful to tell me where to find it. =D

The way it sounds is either a CD drive or a HD drive. Next time you run blockland, make sure there are no disks in your optical drive and try again.

Your RAM may be a little bit low, (a USB stick shouldn't help). But Blockland ran on my old PC which only had 512MB (0.5GB) RAM. Your processor and graphic card should be fine for running Blockland without a problem.

Does this happen with any other games or programs?

A tower is the box which holds your computer components. You have only recently heard the word bridge (look in mac port forwarding topic), please do not try to pretend you know what it is.

If it is your hard drive, you may want to move Blockland to that 2GB USB stick so your hard drive won't make those sounds.

I agree with this.

Just check how much space your HDD has left in it compared to the size of it. Once you get less than about 10-5% spare, some computers can start experiencing performance problems.

My Harddrive's got like 70GB left, and its not comming out of my CD roms. it Sounds like its comming out of the motherboard or video card. Anyone thing i SHOULD be worriod about this, cuz it sounds like its about to explode. Its only at the start up page of blockland so if it wont do any damage i think i can handle it.

Computers make noises when loading thins. Is it a sort of clicking sound?

Nope not a clicking noise, its a screeching annoying LOUD noise. sorta like when you press too many keys on your keyboard down but about 75 times louder and higher pitched + faster.

donno if this works with everyone computer but try pressing down (sdfg) keys and it makes a sound outa the tower.

Lol no how about..... it sounds like a 3 year old girl screaming at the top of her lungs.

Does it sound like a mechanical noise? Or a tone from a speaker?

its either you hard drive's arm is moving back and forth realy fast, or its your video cards cooling fan, im sure if your video card has a wire you can just pull so the fan dosn't run, but that isnt sucha good idea.
